Radha Soami

Radha is wife, Soami is husband
Radha is God, Soami is soul

RADHASAMIS are not SIKHS
Radha Soami "Radhasoami" (also Radhasoami Satsang and Radha Swami) is a sect & spiritual movement, founded in 1861 by Shiv Dayal Singh Seth. It boasts a following of over two million people worldwide. He related the human soul to Radha whose goal was to merge with eternal reality (Soami), thus the name Radha Soami. As do the Hindus he preached vegetarianism and abstinance from intoxication.
Shiv Dyal Singh was never big on spreading his teaching or increasing his flock of devotees. He established his Satsang in Agra. In 1855 Dayal Singh had only a handful of followers. At the time of his death in 1878, it is thought that his following had grown to several thousand.
The sect is faithful in using the Guru Granth Sahib the Holy Book of the Sikh's. They have never tried to alter the proceedings or tenants of mainstream Sikhs and do not portray their leaders as sucessors to the 10 Gurus of the Sikhs. Today the Beas ashram maitnains a Langar (free kitchen) and has lodgings for Sadhus, Sewadars, Satsangis and others.
The MSS Charitable hospital provides free medical care for the group's members and the needy and includes a serai (inn) for the free accommodation of relatives of patients. An annual eye clinic gives medical aid to people suffering eye-ailments, including the removal of cataracts.

Dera is Dear

TAO, MIKE, GEORGE, DAVID, BLOGGER BRAIN and all other neech who are against Guru Gurinder Singh Ji Maharaj... u all are a crook to add such statements. You all are person who have absolutely unscrupulous, with no noesis and greedy people who are so jealous of other who are dam popular and well affluent people then you poor chaps. Babaji clearly says that in this world, you have to earn, in order to live life. He encourages people to fulfil all humanly duties rather than going and mediation in mountains/ away from home. So, as he Himself earning as after all, He has his family as well.

Have you guys ever visited Beas/ Dera, Punjab (India)? The RSSB Headquarters is also known as the 'Dera'. The Dear is amongst the most well planned colonies of India with no air pollution. It is self sustaining community...Tumhara baap kabhi nahin gaya hoga toh tum kahan gaye hoge. OOH!! Sorry to ask obvious question because I know you people with unfit soul are not allowed. Just ask those people who have ever travelled to Beas, or any other center of RSSB. Every year, millions of Radha Soami followers travel to Beas to attend satsangs (discourses) often held at the Dera for weeks at a time. (That too without any publicity or hoarding.). The number of sangat (devotees) present on these days reaches several hundred thousand on the days of the Satsangs. For these followers, they maintain a free kitchen called 'Langar', as well as canteens and snack bars at a nominal price. The free langar complex covers over 48 acres (190,000 m2) and operates around the clock, capable of feeding up to 300,000 people per meal, 50,000 in a single sitting. Now, tell me... whose gonna pay for such a huge expense. Tum logo ka baap??

Again, do you know how much it cost to give accommodation to such a huge gathering? The colony is visited by people from around the world and by all walks of life. To provide temporary accommodation for everyone, a variety of facilities are offered. There are a number of guest hostels with individual rooms and attached baths, hostels with dormitory-style rooms, and other large buildings to house visitors. The visitors are provided free accommodation. This accounts a huge expenditure too.

Three Charitable hospitals were built and run by RSSB. Beas Hospital, Sikanderpur Hospital and the Bhota Hospital provide free medical care for the rural community surrounding it and aid the needy. They include free accommodation for relatives of their patients. For a number of years an annual eye clinic was run and held at the Dera, giving medical aid to people suffering eye-ailments, including the removal of cataracts.
RSSB also helps in relief efforts of victims of natural disasters.
The Dera seeks to be as self-sufficient and environmentally friendly as possible. Every year thousands of trees are planted. Many lawns and parks beautify the colony and provide space for visitors and residents to rest and relax. More than 1,000 acres (4.0 km2) of land are cultivated for growing vegetables and fruits that are used in the langar and by Dera residents. Organic farming methods are being adapted to local conditions. The Dera has its own water supply, water treatment plant and solid waste treatment facility. It has its own electrical sub-station and large electrical generator back-up facility to supply emergency power to the whole community.
All these things need funds. I guess you are not the one who pay single penny for the same.

The railway station of Beas is also very neat and clean. It is recorded in the Guinness book of records. The name of the Beas Railway Station is also included in the name of biggest Indian railway stations and these are Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkatta, Chennai and Beas. It is the cleanest station in India. There are so many greenery and parks in Beas railway Station
Moreover, you will find RSSB even in the smaller cities.

Right now, I am just talking about the Indian centers and majorly about Dera. Just imagine, the expense incurred by RSSB administration across globe. You people can’t even calculate that, for sure. So it’s better not write such comments.

Shilpi, I've been to the Dera twice -- in 1977 when Charan Singh was guru, and in 1998 when Gurinder Singh had taken over. Yes, the Dera is an impressive community. No argument about that.

However, I'd take issue with your contention that Gurinder Singh is "earning" his living, in the Sant Mat sense of the term, by essentially running a huge corporation that is led by Sant Mat initiates because he was given hundreds of millions worth of shares by other initiates who happened to be relatives and is revered as a spiritual leader by devotees.

Charan Singh didn't mix spiritual "business" with worldly business. Gurinder Singh does. That's a fact. You're free to make of that fact whatever you want to.

Yes, it shows that Gurinder Singh is one of us, so to speak. He's as interested in making as much money with as little effort as any other worldly-minded person. If that's how you feel God in Human Form should act, great.

Myself, I kind of like the idea of a greedy, materialistic god, because that means I'm well on the way to becoming godly myself.

THis Gurinder Singh bloke doesn't seem to mind that he has so much money that he can't seem to let go of it to give it to starving people in India and Africa. He has so much money that he can live comfortably off the interest after paying for living quarters and food for the rest of his life, but he seems lacking when it comes to distributing the rest of the millions to the poor, starving and destitute of India.

Can you take someone like that seriously?

Most of the yogis in India have no money. They beg from door to door for food, have nothing but a loincloth for clothing, and teach renunciation. How can you compare this with a millionaire guru? There is no comparison whatsoever.

Face it. Your "guru" leeches money from people, even people that hardly have any money in the first place, and uses it for his personal benefit because he doesn't have to work for a living. He has servents that dally to him all the time. Can you explain to me why this Gurinder imposter claims to be God incarnate but he NEEDS MONEY in order to survive the way he does? EXPLAIN IT.

Shilpi, your comment is not fully understood as the local language has not been translated, so fellow bloggers have missed the bad-ass vibe of it !
Let me decode your local digs.

Bloggers, please note that this kind of language is a commonly used by villains / goons / gang-lords / pimps and is downright street stuff at its crudest best.

Shilpi says — " ( names of bloggers ) and all other neech... "
Meaning — Neech ( here ) means lower level, lowly, down-class, filthy, untouchables.

Shilpi says — " Tumhara baap kabhi nahin gaya hoga toh tum kahan gaye hoge... "
Meaning — A derogatory phrase that translates as " Your father could have never been there so how could you... "

Shilpi says — " Tum logo ka baap ? "
Meaning — " Your father ? " It is recognized by general protocol that the use of the term " baap " or father in this context ( and the above ) would be an insult to the person and his lineage.

Shilpi says — " Tum log jab bhi bologe, gobaar ki karoge toh chup raho na… "
Meaning — ( This is nasty stuff ! ) " Whenever you speak, it is like f***ing horse shit, so shut your mouth... "

Eeeow ! I suspect that Shilpi may have been subject to some sort of trauma that has her lashing out with such crass. A male version of her type is best captured by the guy wearing the black jacket with shoulder-length hair in — http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VJCARxpLy-8&feature=fvwrel

Science of Tzu Chi

Detail
From 20 to 22 Aug, 2011 the CEO of Tzu Chi Singapore Branch, David Liu and his team of Tzu Chi volunteers from Singapore conducted home visits in Phnom Penh with the local Tzu Chi volunteers. This was the second time the Singapore delegation visited Cambodia, one and a half months after their first visit in July to conduct the Blissful Life seminar.

The month of August is the monsoon season of Cambodia, but it doesn't rain as much this year compared with the previous years. The temperature reaches 34 degrees Celsius in the afternoon; accompanied by high humidity, the heat is unbearable and one is soaked to the skin.

The traffic is heavy during weekend in Phnom Penh. Apart from commercial and private cars, there are many motorcycles on the road. The motorcyclists swerve among the cars, though making the traffic messy, do not put themselves in danger as all drivers are seemingly courteous.

Shops at the roadsides are also bustling with business. Many hardware shops display all sorts of machines and motors for sale while street vendors line the street selling basic daily necessities. There is no doubt that Phnom Penh is bustling with life.

Prior to the arrival of the Singapore delegation, volunteer Yoshikazu Shaku and Keng Lim had arrived earlier on 17 Aug to conduct home visits with the local volunteers and do the necessary groundwork in preparation for the arrival of the Singapore delegation which comprised volunteers from the Entrepreneur Group, Medical Group, Home Visit Team and Documenting Team.

The Singapore delegation stayed at the same hotel, New York Hotel, that they stayed during their previous visit in July. Shortly after the delegation had checked into the hotel and settled down, they met up with local volunteers and in two minibus they went to visit two new care recipients and an old one in the First Village in Chroy Chongva District.

The local volunteers participating in the home visits were very enthusiastic, among the 18 of them were some new volunteers, such as Dr Nguon Peng, two medical students in their final year of studies, Phan Monirath, Mey Sok Kalyan and Sok Kheng.

After the home visits, upon arrival at the hotel at 4 pm, a meeting was conducted to discuss about the progress of the existing cases, the qualifying conditions for assistance for new cases, and the problems encountered during home visits as well as other queries.

Before the meeting started, Liu mentioned that as it was a formal meeting, proper meeting ritual needs to be followed. He demonstrated the three bows to the Buddha and Master Cheng Yen and then led the rest to perform the ritual.

Charitable work to take root locally
"At Tzu Chi, we make decisions after reaching consensus in meeting discussions; no individual makes decisions for the rest." Liu highlighted the purpose of meetings and their significance.

One of the philosophies of Tzu Chi's charity mission is to extend help to people in one's proximity. Taking into account of traffic conditions and travel time, Liu conveyed that Master Cheng Yen doesn't encourage volunteers to travel far to look for needy cases.

Citing Sri Lanka as an example, Liu pointed out that Tzu Chi only covers area accessible within half an hour by car. As for the seaside town of Hambantota which spans a bigger area, the limit is extended to not more than one hour by car.

"Considering that most our local volunteers are salarymen who do not have much free time at their disposal and transportation to the suburbs is not convenient, it would be fairly taxing for us to provide long-term support to needy people who live half an hour away by car. Therefore, it is best that we start from our own immediate community and conduct charity work locally in Phnom Penh," advised Liu.

Exercising both compassion and wisdom to achieve perfection
In Chroy Chongva District in east Phnom Penh sits an abandoned four-storey building known as the First Village. The building, which used to be a French hospital, still looks sturdy. The staircases are at the two sides of the building and there are many partitioned "homes" of different sizes at both sides of the central corridors. These partitioned spaces could have been wards and treatment rooms in the past. The walls and floors are in very bad shape as they have not been maintained for long and the walls are badly stained and are turning black and yellow. But one can still get a peep of the glorious past of the building from the beautiful floor tiles and the classic and elegant iron railings of the staircases.

In the 90s after the civil war had ended, many people moved to Phnom Penh and squatted at the building on a 'first come first serve' basis. The building is now fully occupied by more than 300 very poor households from all sorts of backgrounds and, with the leads from their neighbours, more than 10 of them are now care recipients of Tzu Chi.

According to one volunteer, a care recipient feels that he is not treated fairly in the amount of cash aid he receives and is bothered by it. The volunteer sought advice from Liu on how to handle such a situation.

Liu opined, "It is very difficult to identify the poorer from the many poor there. If there are still many who have difficulties in leading their lives, we can extend our help to them too. But if we do not do our job perfectly, it will lead to misunderstanding and a sense of unfairness among our beneficiaries."

As such, Liu suggested that the local volunteers get in touch with the village head, Mdm Pernpov, and obtain income statistics of the village residents to understand their situation better. After which, the volunteers will have to visit each household to understand and verify its plight in detail. With the information gathered, the committee will discuss how to help the needy in the best manner.

Recruiting "Bodhisattvas" to spread the spirit of Tzu Chi

Tzu Chi's tenet has long been to inspire the rich to help the poor and to guide the poor to strive for spiritual wealth. Such long-term endeavour however requires more than just volunteer manpower to accomplish.

Citing the examples of the disaster relief in Haiti and Japan, Liu explained that the relief funds were raised by both Tzu Chi volunteers and members who took to the streets to solicit donations. "We encourage our volunteers to also sign up as donating members as participating in home visits allows us to form good affinities with the poor whereas by being a donor (and with Tzu Chi's missions benefiting the society at large), we create good affinities with the mass. Those who form wholesome affinities with people are the blessed ones."

Liu then encouraged all to fill out the membership application form to become volunteers and members of Tzu Chi. "We are glad to have you bodhisattvas here with us. Feel free to donate whatever amounts you are comfortable with. With the money collected and with the recruitment of even more people to be members through you in future, we can then help the needy together."

He hopes that fresh volunteers in Cambodia will "learn along the way by asking more questions and be diligent, exercising both their compassion and wisdom" in their lives. "Such is the Tzu Chi's way of practicing Buddhism," he concluded.

With the encouragement of Liu, the response was overwhelming. 23 people signed up as members and volunteers, hoping to become "the blessed ones" who exercise both their compassion and wisdom.

One of them is Phai Cham, a receptionist at the side hall counter of the hotel. The side hall was where the meetings between volunteers from Singapore and Cambodia were held. Overhearing all the meetings from beginning to end, Phai Cham was very touched by what she heard and came forward to enquire about signing up as a Tzu Chi member.

"I really admire all of you being so committed to helping the poor; due to my job I can't afford the time to be a volunteer, but I am very willing to help by becoming a member and make donation."

In September 1994, heavy rains caused a national disaster in Cambodia and Tzu Chi was soon in Cambodia to conduct disaster relief after the Cambodian government appealed to the international community for help. Among the relief materials were rice, grain seeds, as well as water pumps and fuel for irrigation, in the hope of improving the living conditions of the Cambodians. However, a civil war ensued and Tzu Chi's relief efforts which had lasted for three years were brought to a halt abruptly.

"After an absence of 14 years, we are finally back in Cambodia, and all of you are our pioneer volunteers and members." Brother concluded the visit to Cambodia by sending his sincerest encouragement and well wishes to the Cambodians.

THE GREAT LAW

1. THE GREAT LAW – “As you sow, so shall you reap”. This is also known as the “Law of Cause and Effect”. – Whatever we put out in the Universe is what comes back to us. – If what we want is Happiness, Peace, Love, Friendship… Then we should BE Happy, Peaceful, Loving and a True Friend.

2. THE LAW OF CREATION – Life doesn’t just HAPPEN, it requires our participation. – We are one with the Universe, both inside and out. – Whatever surrounds us gives us clues to our inner state. – BE yourself, and surround yourself with what you want to have present in your Life.

 3. THE LAW OF HUMILITY – What you refuse to accept, will continue for you. – If what we see is an enemy, or someone with a character trait that we find to be negative, then we ourselves are not focused on a higher level of existence. Advertisements

 4. THE LAW OF GROWTH – “Wherever you go, there you are”. – For us to GROW in Spirit, it is we who must change – and not the people, places or things around us. – The only given we have in our lives is OURSELVES and that is the only factor we have control over. – When we change who and what we are within our heart our life follows suit and changes too.

THE 5. LAW OF RESPONSIBILITY – Whenever there is something wrong in my life, there is something wrong in me. – We mirror what surrounds us – and what surrounds us mirrors us; this is a Universal Truth. – We must take responsibility what is in our life.

 6. THE LAW OF CONNECTION – Even if something we do seems inconsequential, it is very important that it gets done as everything in the Universe is connected. – Each step leads to the next step, and so forth and so on. – Someone must do the initial work to get a job done. – Neither the first step nor the last are of greater significance, – As they were both needed to accomplish the task. – Past-Present-Future they are all connected…

 7. THE LAW OF FOCUS – You can not think of two things at the same time. – When our focus is on Spiritual Values, it is impossible for us to have lower thoughts such as greed or anger.

 8. THE LAW OF GIVING AND HOSPITALITY – If you believe something to be true, then sometime in your life you will be called upon to demonstrate that particular truth. – Here is where we put what we CLAIM that we have learned, into actual PRACTICE.

 9. THE LAW OF HERE AND NOW – Looking backward to examine what was, prevents us from being totally in the HERE AND NOW. – Old thoughts, old patterns of behavior, old dreams… – Prevent us from having new ones.

 10. THE LAW OF CHANGE – History repeats itself until we learn the lessons that we need to change our path.

 11. THE LAW OF PATIENCE AND REWARD – All Rewards require initial toil. – Rewards of lasting value require patient and persistent toil. – True joy follows doing what we’re suppose to be doing, and waiting for the reward to come in on its own time.

 12. THE LAW OF SIGNIFICANCE AND INSPIRATION – You get back from something whatever YOU have put into it. – The true value of something is a direct result of the energy and intent that is put into it. – Every personal contribution is also a contribution to the Whole. – Lack luster contributions have no impact on the Whole, nor do they work to diminish it. – Loving contributions bring life to, and inspire, the Whole.

Understanding Death

(Mother Nature or Mother Earth or Earth Mother )
