Yes. Baba Ji, if we make many sacrifices in our life, but then no one appreciates these sacrifices, and we also have no other option before us, then what should we do? Look, we all bring our own destiny. We will definitely receive what is written in our destiny. Why are we seeking appreciation in this world? What do we hope to receive from others? What we receive only comes from the Lord? We have come here because of our karma. It is best to live in His will and settle our karmic account, so that we do not have to come back. Our time here is very limited, so let us take full advantage of it and live in His will. Just remain happy in whatever circumstances He keeps you.
Question No = 01 @ 00- 0០: 49
Radha Soami, Baba Ji. Baba Ji, I cannot meditate. What can we achieve without effort? If a child says, “I cannot study,” will you tell him to just go sit at home? Baba Ji, I try very hard. No, there is no such... don’t analyze! Don’t think, “I can do it” or “I can’t do it.” You just sit! Maharaj Ji used to say, “You sit! You give time to it. Then the rest becomes His responsibility.” You give it your full time. Say, “I have made him a promise, I am going to give it my time.” Now whether there is progress or not – that is Maharaj Ji’s responsibility. Baba Ji, the mind wanders far away. That is why we are given meditation. The mind is a creature of habit. We have to think what is best for us. If we reflect on this and then sit – only then will we be able to control the mind. Only then will we be able to bring the mind onto the right path. At this time, we are the ones serving the mind. Do we want to remain slaves all our lives, or do we want to be the ones in control? Baba Ji, my second question is that I end up making so many mistakes. Let us learn now. If we continue to make mistakes our whole life, then what will become of us? Yes, man does make mistakes, but if he learns from them and adopts the right path, if he walks the path of truth, then the Lord only has forgiveness to offer. Otherwise, we will have to bear the burden. Baba Ji, I get angry and then everything goes downhill, sir. What do you achieve with anger? Right now, you are talking to me. If I answer back in anger, would you like it? No, Baba Ji. So then we should also treat others in the same way. We should treat others the way we’d like to be treated.
Question No = 02 @ 00- 02: 43
Baba Ji, I try very hard to speak lovingly, but yet... No, quietly walk away at that time, and then calmly talk about it later. Okay, Baba Ji. Radha Soami. And do not get angry with your wife at all! Thank you, Baba Ji, thank you. You’ve given me such a wonderful family, Baba Ji, I cannot thank you enough. It is a wonderful family, I can see that – these days, all you women are ... Baba Ji, I have a son and a daughter. They fight so much with each other, Baba Ji. This is what love is. When I was younger, I used to fight with my sister a lot, too! Baba Ji, I cannot meditate. No, don’t ever say, “I can’t do it.” We have to do our part and fulfill our responsibility. And our responsibility is, as Maharaj Ji used to say, “Whether the mind cooperates or not, you sit!” Okay? We have to do our part and fulfill our responsibility. If we sit, if we give our time to it, then the rest is His responsibility. Don’t get caught up in analysis. Whether anything is happening or not – how is it our concern? We promised to sit. We have to fulfill that promise. And the rest, Maharaj Ji will do on his own. Thank you, Baba Ji. I get very angry At the slightest issue, I lose my temper and cause great harm to myself. Everyone gets angry. I don’t know what has happened to my satsangis! Everyone says, “I get very angry!” What difference does that anger make? Does it lead us to any solution? It only makes the situation worse, right? What we can achieve with love and affection ... Although yes, sometimes you do have to get angry at home. You have to show that you’re angry, especially to the children. It’s one thing if we turn red with rage; but it’s another if we just scold our children, because sometimes they don’t listen to us without being scolded. So that kind of anger is justified. But don’t lose your temper so much that it has an adverse effect on you. Okay. You can scold them a little here and there. Okay, Baba Ji. I have seva today,
Question No = 03 @ 00- 04: 52
Baba Ji, please give me the strength to fulfill it, O Lord. Don’t worry. O Lord, with your grace, I try very hard, but my mind refuses to repeat the simran and I have to say it out loud. In the beginning, you do say it out loud; it is a question of habit. Look, when we learned how to drive a car, we had to focus so intently. If someone would speak to us, we’d say, “Don’t talk to me or else we’ll have an accident!” But now with practice, our feet and hands move on their own. We can even look outside and hold a conversation, so it’s a matter of practice. In the beginning, we repeat it with the tongue. As we keep repeating it, we keep repeating it ... When you go on repeating something, it makes an impression on the mind, and then the mind picks it up. So go on doing it. Gradually the mind will pick it up on its own. Then the mind will do it effortlessly. O Lord, please shower your grace so that I may never waver from the path you have shown me. Don’t worry.
Question No = 04 @ 00- 05: 57
Baba Ji, thank you, thank you so much, Baba Ji. For the past two months I have been crying day and night, saying, “Baba Ji, call me for seva, call me for seva!” Thank you, my Lord, you called me for seva. How did this river start flowing in reverse? No, Baba Ji. I keep thanking you, and you keep thanking me. Tell me – during this time of chaos, everyone fled to their homes and shut themselves inside, to the extent that if someone passed away in their household, they did not even take the body to the cremation ground! And look at my sevadars! My sevadars said, “Send us wherever you want to, we are here!” So I should be thanking you. Baba Ji, I’d like to ask you about something that has been bothering me for five years. If someone has no means to earn money, and their sibling offers them some money, does that person incur karma? Look, in a family, I wouldn’t say that you incur karma, but we should try to be self-sufficient and live off our own earnings. Now, the Lord has granted everyone the capacity to earn two square meals a day. But if we increase our needs beyond that and say, “I want a large mansion, I want to eat 6 or 7 meals a day,” “I want this, I want that” – those desires can never be fulfilled. So try to live off your own earnings. We should never carry the burden of owing a debt to anyone. Okay, Baba Ji. It has been 5 years, Baba Ji, I have been unable to sleep by day or night ... Maharaj Ji used to tell us, “Your hand should never be facing this way, it should be facing this way.” Okay? Yes, Baba Ji, please grant me the gift of seva, simran, and satsang, Baba Ji. Don’t worry. I do not want anything else but you.
Question No = 05 @ 00- 07: 54
Baba Ji, I am infinitely grateful to you; you chose me for seva. The entire sangat outside is yearning for seva. And you called us here and are giving us endless opportunities for darshan and seva. Baba Ji, continue to shower your grace, and please help me continue with my meditation. Baba Ji, when I sit in bhajan, I can hear the Sound from my left ear. Baba Ji, I try very hard to divert it yet I do sit for the full time. No, don’t get caught up in left or right, just keep your attention here, behind the eyes. Look, as far as the Shabd is concerned, it is in our entire body. When the Lord withdraws the Shabd from any part of our body, that part stops functioning. We have to focus behind the eyes. So keep your attention here, and try and listen to it here; it will start coming from the centre on its own. And Baba Ji, you know the condition of each one’s mind. Please help us in our worldly as well as spiritual life. May there never come a time when I become a burden on others. Everyone asks me, “How do you get seva done?” Everyone finds it difficult to find sevadars, but till today I haven’t faced any such difficulty! In fact, I say that the sevadars are ready before I can even call them. So there is no one else like my sevadars in this world! Well, Baba Ji, there is no one like our Guru in the entire creation, either! Oh, you’ll find plenty of gurus, but you’ll never find sevadars like these. No, Baba Ji, there is absolutely no one else like you! You won’t find sevadars like these. A guru exists only if he has sevadars. If there was no sangat, how could there be a guru? Baba Ji, please always continue to shower us with your love. Baba Ji, please shower your grace on me, on the entire sangat, and on my family. And Baba Ji, please bestow your blessings on those who have taken out the time to come here. May they find fulfillment in their love, as well as in their worldly and spiritual life. Radha Soami, Baba Ji.
Question No = 06 @ 00- 10: 02
Baba Ji, I have no question, I just have a small request. Please shower your grace that I may continue to have faith, and bless me with the strength to always walk the right path. You got an opportunity, you should have asked for something. You could have at least said, “Give me a good wife!” No, Baba Ji, I just want ... You don’t want a good wife? You said, “No!” Do you want a good wife or not? Yes. So, Baba Ji, please just continue to shower your grace, and never keep me far from seva. Always bless me with the opportunity to do seva, Baba Ji. I am here only because of all of you – what am I without you? No, Baba Ji, you are the one who gets the seva done – from me, from the whole sangat – you are the one who gets it done. This is your greatness when you say these things, because the amount of seva that you do – I don’t think there is any parallel in the whole world to the kind of seva you do. In this midst of this pandemic, look at how they went to every satsang center and prepared meals; they did everything. Is there any other institution that has done this kind of work? This honour rests on your shoulders. Baba Ji, please continue to shower your grace and grant me the gift of initiation. Radha Soami.
Question No = 07 @ 00- 11: 11
Baba Ji, thank you, thank you so much for allowing me the opportunity to stand before you in such a blessed atmosphere. When I was a child, I would look at the sky and say, “There’s God!” or, “Look, God is walking my way!” But today I have come to realize that I am standing in front of God. No, why should we say such things? I am just a sevadar like you. Someone just has to be at the forefront, but besides that, no one is superior or inferior here at Dera. We are all just sevadars. Baba Ji, since my initiation, I had an experience once when there was so much withdrawal, even my tongue went numb. But since then, you have withheld your grace and have not shown me anything! What do we want to see? We just have to live in His will. “Obeying His hukam, one obtains everything.” We do not want anything! We only want to live in His will. If we can reach such a level, then it becomes His responsibility. If we ask, what will we ask for? We simply limit ourselves by asking. Someone asks for a child, someone asks for wealth – we just limit ourselves. We should only say, “Whatever pleases Him, O Nanak, that alone is good.” Baba Ji, you have blessed the sangat here at Dera, please also bless those sitting at home who are yearning to be here. Don’t worry. May that sangat come to the Dera too. Radha Soami. Baba Ji, first, thank you very much for showering your grace and mercy.
Question No = 08 @ 00- 12: 49
Baba Ji, I just wanted to ask you this. I am thinking of going abroad. This isn’t a wrong decision, is it? I won’t distance myself from seva or this atmosphere, will I? No, our centres are in every country now. No, but still, Baba Ji, living here ... No, just remember one thing. Don’t ever forget your culture. Wherever you go, don’t forget your upbringing. We get a little freedom over there and then we go astray. Someone who is going to work hard will do so, and will earn his living, regardless of whichever country he is in. But someone who thinks, “It will be easier for me to make a living out there...” In those countries, one has to put in twice the effort. You have to work very hard. But I don’t say that it’s bad to go abroad, you’re most welcome to go, but just don’t forget your upbringing or the culture you come from.
Question No = 09 @ 00- 13: 40
Baba Ji, I cannot believe I am standing before you! You have given me so much in life. At every step, with so much love, you have helped me out in every difficulty, Baba Ji. Thank you so much. I have only one request – please let me remain in meditation and seva till my last breath, Baba Ji. Let me always remain in seva, let me always remain in simran. Please continue to shower your grace. Did you just get married? Yes. Has you husband come along too, or ...? Yes. What? Yes, he was just here. He was just here? Yes. I see. He just spoke with you. You are spending your honeymoon very well! Baba Ji, there could be nothing better than this! That’s a very good outlook – you are right, you are absolutely right! Thank you so much, Baba Ji. What could be better than starting this new chapter of your life with seva? Thank you Baba Ji. Baba Ji, he calls me, “Flat-nose!” Please tell him not to! What does he call you? “Flat-nose!” “Flat-nose?” Oh, that’s just his way of showing affection. No, Baba Ji, you tell him! You see, these men don’t know how to express their love, okay? They always go about it the wrong way. A woman has tremendous power, she can wrap him around her finger with ease! So men have to be taught how to express love. This is just his way of showing of his love and affection. Okay, Baba Ji. Please continue to shower your grace. And always shower your grace upon the whole sangat, Baba Ji. Radha Soami.
Question No = 10 @ 00- 15: 24
Radha Soami, Baba Ji. Baba Ji, first, I have two requests. When you come for darshan, could you please smile a little? I should smile? If something is amusing, I will smile. But at least don’t treat me the way you treat a horse when it’s being sold! Sometimes we pick up its tail, sometimes we open its mouth and count its teeth. No, Baba Ji, your smile ... Don’t turn me into a horse! For us, Baba Ji, your smile is our heartbeat. How did that song go? “When she laughs, he counts her teeth!” Baba Ji, my second request is, just as we have Pathi Sahib and Uncle Mewa Ji in our sanitation department, may all the different departments have sevadars like them. It is because of them that we are able to do seva. And Baba Ji, I have a question. My engineering exam starts soon, and our sevadar-in-charge told me, “Baba Ji will either get the exam cancelled, or he will take it on your behalf – you extend your seva time here.” Oh, no, no! Go and prepare for your exams! Baba Ji, so what is your instruction for me? Should I go or should I stay? No, go, go! Go and prepare for them. Okay, Baba Ji. Radha Soami.
Question No = 11 @ 00- 16: 36
Thank you so much, Baba Ji. Firstly, it was my dream to come to Beas for a month. To get permission, and then to be able to see you this close, to be able to talk to you – thank you so very much. We were sitting in the midst of blazing fires, you brought us here into your cooling presence – thank you so much, Baba Ji. Baba Ji, I am not worthy enough to ask a question. I just have a couple of requests. First, when I do my simran, I cannot focus at night, but I really enjoy doing it during the day, and I feel like completing all my work quickly so that I can keep sitting during the day. This has created a doubt in me about doing seva during the day – should I come for seva, or should I just meditate? The highest seva is meditation. It is the highest seva. “This is true service and discipleship – when Nam comes to abide in the mind.” We do outer seva to create an atmosphere. So spend as much time as you can in meditation. If you get extra time, then you are most welcome to do outer seva too, but the seva of meditation comes first. I was reading the book Heaven on Earth. I just kept on reading it, and now when I sit in simran, I have started feeling immense love for all the Masters. But if I do dhyan specifically on Sawan Singh Ji and Charan Singh Ji, I feel that my attention withdraws much faster. You’re most welcome to do that; who has stopped you? I keep trying to contemplate on you. No, what is special about me? There’s no mention of me in Heaven on Earth! So go ahead and contemplate on them. Baba Ji, could you send a message to those who are sitting at home? The whole sangat is in anguish ... Many people told me to ask you ... Send them my love. Send my love to everyone. Radha Soami.
Question No = 12 @ 00- 18: 35
Baba Ji, Radha Soami. Baba Ji, I received initiation in May, sorry, in February, but when I sit in meditation, my simran continues even during bhajan, which means that I cannot listen to the Sound during bhajan because the simran just keeps going. Since we have been doing simran for 2 hours, the mind picks it up. It depends on what you choose to focus on, okay? Now what will happen is that as we do simran and gain concentration, the Sound will start becoming audible. At that time, continue to focus on simran, even if the Sound is going on. When we sit for bhajan, because we’ve been doing simran for 2 hours, the simran will continue in the background even while you listen to the Sound. Let it continue, it doesn’t make a difference. But you keep your focus on the Sound. So it depends on what you focus on. Baba Ji, Radha Soami. Please shower your grace on the whole family. Please always be with me.
Question No = 13 @ 00- 19: 38
Radha Soami. Baba Ji, my karma is very heavy. Please have your glance of mercy on me. Whose karma isn’t heavy? What temperature meter do we have to assess, “My karma is heavy and his isn’t!” Each one has their own karma. It is the result of our own actions. We have not been given anyone else’s karma. “Our own actions draw us closer to God or drive us away from Him.” We are only getting the results of our own actions. So what’s done is done, but let’s be careful in the future. Let’s move forward with caution. And if we learn from from our past, and try to improve our life, He has only forgiveness to offer. He himself will give us the strength. Okay. Baba Ji, earlier, I used to feel so much love and longing when I’d come to do seva with Masterji (Sevadar-in-charge, Sanitation Dept.), but now everything feels dead, none of it has remained. No, love is not something which comes and goes. We love our parents, we love our children. Do we say, “Today I have love, tomorrow I won’t”? Then that is not love; that is emotion. Once love has been established, it remains. Yes, it’s true, sometimes we’re having a good day and we feel “Today, everything is going well; the Lord has been so kind.” On other days, when things are difficult, we feel, “the Lord has forgotten us!” The Lord does not forget us! We lose our way, we get weighed down by the pressure of whatever we’re going through. So don’t get caught up in analysis. The Lord does not create separation – we are the ones who create separation. Baba Ji, what is the way to increase our love for the Master? What can we do? We can live in his will, in his hukam. “By obeying his hukam, one receives everything.” Yes, Baba Ji. Please help me meditate, and shower your grace.
Question No = 14 @ 00- 21: 23
Radha Soami, Baba Ji. If someone hasn’t yet received initiation, what should they do, Baba Ji? Let us be good human beings and build a strong foundation. We will only be able to fulfill this if we have a strong foundation, okay? If the Lord has blessed us... Many of us took initiation without even thinking it over, without realizing what we were getting into. So if the Lord has blessed us with this understanding early on, then let’s understand the principles. What are the principles? What does spirituality mean? If we seek initiation after understanding these things, it will become easy to fulfill it. Otherwise we spend time later going through these things again. Baba Ji, they say that we should sit in dhyan, but then you just said that if there is pain, or we try and force it... and once you had said that we shouldn’t force the attention, that later after initiation ... There is no method that is easier than this, okay? In other religions, they ask you to do different things – go crawling, hang upside down, do this, do that! Here, you don’t have to do anything! Here, you just sit down quietly. And now this very thing has become difficult for us. Then Baba Ji, that pain... There can be no pain. If we sit quietly, why would we experience pain? If you force it, then you will experience pain. And if we sit quietly ... Just adopt the posture, sit down quietly, and start your simran. You do not have to do anything else, He himself will do the rest. Baba Ji, when you grace us with your darshan, then they say that we should try to see your form behind our eyes. Behind the eyes? I mean, here, we should try and instill your form here, when you are giving darshan. It is not in our hands. Darshan is not something that is in our hands. We can only look at him – we cannot have darshan. He gives us darshan when he grants his blessing. Darshan refers to that state when someone loses all awareness of himself, when he gazes at his Beloved so intently that he becomes oblivious of everything else. So this is a state that we have to try and reach – only then will we have darshan. At this time, we are only looking. Yes, Baba Ji. Make me worthy and then grant me the gift of initiation, please grant it to me, Baba Ji.
Question No = 15 @ 00- 23: 47
Radha Soami. I am not worthy enough to ask you a question. The Lord of all creation is sitting before me. I want only you, O Lord, I don’t want anything else, Baba Ji. We have to do our part and put in the effort. The Lord is the doer. We should never lack in our effort, we should leave no stone unturned in our effort. Baba Ji, my siblings and I have no one else but you in this world. I also have no one but you. Always remain close, Baba Ji. Radha Soami, Baba Ji.
Question No = 16 @ 00- 24: 22
Baba Ji, thank you very much for giving me this opportunity to do seva, and also for seva at the centre. I am infinitely grateful to you, Baba Ji. Baba Ji, when I sit in dhyan, then the simran continues on its own. Why does this happen, Baba Ji? It’s a good thing, it isn’t a bad thing. Baba Ji, so there’s no problem if the simran carries on like that? It is a very good thing. That is the very purpose. We do simran everyday so that it becomes a habit. When it carries on naturally, then it will also become easier to do dhyan. Baba Ji, please open the lock at the tenth door. You’ve placed such a massive lock there and it refuses to open! It isn’t a massive lock, in fact, there is no lock! All you need to do is reach there. Just get there first! The door will open on its own. Baba Ji, please shower your grace on my family and on the entire sangat.
Question No = 17 @ 00- 25: 11
Baba Ji, thank you for everything. My question is, when someone hurts our self-respect, should we respond or not? No, no. Look, currently, we are reacting. And reaction only worsens the situation. If one person has spoken harshly, then why do we need to do the same? Just quietly walk away, okay? When he calms down, then you can explain things to him, and then he will listen and also understand. But if he says something in the heat of the moment, and you answer back, it will only make matters worse, right? So move forward with love. Love has immense power. And men are fools anyway! If you women show them a little love, you will easily win them over. Baba Ji, please grant me the gift of initiation and always shower your grace on my brothers. Only on your brothers? Not on your husband?
Question No = 18 @ 00- 26: 10
Radha Soami, Baba Ji. I don’t have a question. Just tell me something that will inspire me for the rest of my life. In life, none of us can take anything along with us; it will all be left behind here. Only our love and devotion will accompany us, and that is the one thing that we do not pay attention to. Our attention is trapped in all the various things of this world. So if we can take out even a little time and attach ourselves to the Lord’s devotion, then we will get reassurance from within; we will get the strength to be able to face everything. Yes. Baba Ji, please help me achieve my dreams, especially the one my father had for me, I know you will help me. You have already taken him to the Lord, all I have left are the dreams he had for me, which I want to fulfill. From our side, we must continue to put in the effort. The rest will happen according to what the Lord has written in our destiny, right? So let there be nothing lacking in your efforts. Work hard, and then leave the rest to the Lord. Yes, please bless me with the gift of initiation. Baba Ji, please keep giving darshan like this everyday. Please keep giving darshan like this everyday. Never send me far away from you.
Question No = 19 @ 00- 27: 37
Baba Ji, I am a sinner, forgive me, forgive me, forgive me. We are all sinners. See, if we are sitting here, it is because of our karma. If we didn’t have karma, why would we be here? The Lord has given us this opportunity to settle our karmic account, to cleanse and purify ourselves so that we can attain union with Him. So to think that some have more karma and others have less – everyone here is equal. We are all in the same ocean, and now we have to reach the other shore. If we put in the effort and have faith, He will shower his grace, and he himself will take us across. Baba Ji, if we aren’t initiated, can we sit in meditation? Just sit quietly and try to concentrate your mind. Keep your attention behind the eyes – but don’t repeat anything. Baba Ji, please bless me with the gift of initiation and continue to shower your grace.
Question No = 20 @ 00- 28: 38
Baba Ji, thank you so, so much. You considered this worthless daughter of yours worthy enough to get the opportunity to speak to you and do seva. Baba Ji, please just bless me with the capacity to meditate. Tell me, I see all these ladies who have dressed up and come here ... No one is worthless before the Lord. We are all equal before Him. Parents see no difference amongst their children. Parents consider all their children to be equal. The only thing is that, yes, their children may have different perspectives. Sometimes when a child asks for something, his mother says no, and he immediately says, “You don’t love me!” And the mother denies his request only because she loves him; she understands that this is not in his best interest. So a parent’s love does not differentiate amongst the children. The Lord loves each one of us equally. We need to digest that love and channelize it in the right manner.
Question No = 21 @ 00- 29: 43
Baba Ji, I know you are very much familiar with the condition my parents had put forward and sent me in seva. Baba Ji, I just want you to help me, support me, and bless me, so that I can fulfill their dreams and make you and them feel proud of me. You speak English better than I do! Parents are not our enemies, okay? Parents are not our enemies. Whatever they say is for our own good. Perhaps at this time, in the fervour of youth, we are not aware of what is good or bad for us. So if they tell us something, we should pay attention to their words. Because whatever they tell us stems from their love for us. So yes, parents worry that their children may take a wrong step that they will later regret. Parents have experienced life, they have seen life. They have also been through the ups and downs of life, and that is why they offer us their advice. we should listen to them carefully. Whatever they explain to us stems from their love for us. Baba Ji, give me the strength to meditate. I have received so much love from Masterji, and from you. Please give me the strength to follow your instructions and to follow Masterji’s inspiration. Okay, where did you learn to speak English so well? I learnt it from you. What? I learnt it from you. No, how could you learn it from me? My English still needs to be polished! No. Please bless me with the gift of initiation.
